Broadstairs Autumn Food Festival

If you are planning on staying in one of our three luxury apartments here in Broadstairs on the 30th of September through until the 2nd of October, you've chosen the perfect weekend. Why not take a short wander down to the 2022 Broadstairs Autumn Food Festival? It makes for the perfect family weekend, as there really is something for everyone! The well-known and well-loved event is set to take place on the clifftop site of Victoria Gardens in Broadstairs - you can walk there from the apartments, but you may need to get a taxi back!

The festival is a great celebration of our local food and drink, including cheeses, meats, artisan breads, pickles, cakes and pastries, all washed down with Kent wines, ciders and ales. The exhibitors are hand-picked from Kent as well as many of the neighbouring counties. The festival helps to support the High Street and helps to promote the area's small food and drink producers while encouraging visitors to explore all that the three coastal towns of Broadstairs, Margate and Ramsgate have to offer. What makes the festival even better is that it is free entry for all the family!

This year, you can expect over 100 independent food and drink producers, many of them being 'Taste of Kent' award finalists. There is a wide range of exhibitors set to be at the festival, with everything from beers and spirit makers; to wooden homewares; delicious sweet and savoury baked goods; mouth-watering hog roasts; pet accessories and a toy stall - just to name a few!

The festival provides the perfect chance to pick up some items that make the perfect bespoke gifts for the foodie or the gin lover in your life, or they make the perfect stocking fillers - you can never really start too early, can you? Why not pick up some locally distilled rum, gin or vodka from Kent's first gin distillery, Anno Distillers? Or how about some tasty chilli sauces, oils, rubs and jams from Carringtons? Or if you're fancying a little treat yourself, call past Kebbells who are serving up Maldon oysters and deep-fried baby octopus with aioli.

What makes the festival even better, in our opinion, is that the festival is committed to responsible food sourcing, while working to reduce food miles and maintaining welfare standards. This year, they are striving further still to increase sustainability and beginning the journey to becoming a small part of the solution and not a bigger part of the problem. You can play your part by bringing cotton or recycled, reusable bags to the event.
